TYPES

There are two types of strokes - 

1. Ischemic Stroke -80% of all strokes are a result of a blockage in the blood vessel.  It mostly happens when the fat deposits in the artery break and go to the brain. This causes a break in the flow of blood. It can also be caused because of poor blood flow from the heart itself due to any cardiovascular disease.

2. Hemorrhagic Stroke - It may be less common the aforementioned counterpart but is far more dangerous. In this, the blood vessel in the brain either balloons up or a weakened one leaks. Very high pressure or prolonged use of blood-thinning medications can be a reason for this.

1.High Blood Pressure:- If your blood pressure is typically 140/90 or higher it may be labelled as hypertension but can be a contributing factor in a stroke as discussed earlier.

2. Tobacco:- Tobacco in any form can increase the risk of stroke as it raises the blood pressure. It also promotes the buildup of fat in the artery and thickens the blood. This can lead to a blood clot which can be fatal.
